The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Class is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type.
Students learn NRA’s rules for:
- safe gun handling
- pistol parts and operation
- ammunition
- shooting fundamentals
- cleaning the pistol
- and continued opportunities for skill development
Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, First Steps course completion certificate, and Lesson Plan.

The NRA Reloading Class teaches beginning reloaders the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges. This course is four and half hours in length and is conducted in a classroom. Each student is taught reloading safety; centerfire cartridge components; using the reloading manual and reloading data; equipment; and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam, a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure.

NRA Basic Pistol Course

NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home

The Personal Protection Inside the Home Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.
The NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course participants must be law abiding, adults (at least 21 years old), and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, course completion certificate, and Lesson Plan.

Students will leave this course with a greater understanding of weapon manipulation, accuracy shooting and safety. Students must have the basic fundamentals and skill sets required before attending this course.

This course is designed to give the shooter a more advanced understanding of their weapons system in a tactical environment. The Tactical Pistol ll course allows the now more advanced pistol shooter an in-depth understanding of quick
sighting and target acquisition shooting. The fundamentals of this course will be demonstrated through practical
range exercises with real world scenarios.
Students will practice multiple target engagment, cover firing and movement, collateral damage prevention, advanced firing positions, failure to fire drills, multiple mag changes, stress shooting and controlled pair shooting. Students must have attended Defensive Pistol I or equivalent (proof req'd). before attending this course.

Advanced Pistol III - Defensive Action

This course is designed to give the shooter a more advanced understanding of their weapons system in a tactical environment. The advanced pistol course gives the student an opportunity to experience high intensity shooting at extreme close range and will test the shooters reaction time, operational awareness, muscle memory and
quick target acquisition shooting. All students will be tested on the range following each evolution of this course to
ensure standards and safety. Students will practice ballistics, reflective fire, quick sighting and target acquisition, close range engagements, close range weapons retention, shoot and move techniques, multiple target engagment, cover firing, collateral damage prevention, advanced firing positions and low light cover and engagements. Students must have attended Tactical Pistol I and II or equivalent (proof req'd). before attending this course.

This course will maintain a crawl, walk, run mentality with minimal stress on the shooter.

This course is a unique course of instruction that will provide the avid carbine
shooter with a more in-depth knowledge base for the AR-15 style platform in reference to function, maintenance, history and operation. The Carbine Operator II course consists of classroom instruction with informative blocks of instruction about the weapon system, accessories and kit/gear selection to properly operate a carbine on the range
and for personal defense applications. This is
accomplished by providing participants with a two day comprehensive course of instruction on field stripping and maintenance, advanced marksmanship, reloads, malfunctions and aiming techniques. Range time will be devoted to more advanced marksmanship. Upon completion of this course, graduates will be asked to demonstrate proficiency in assembly, disassembly, inspection, testing,
gauging, and repair of these weapon systems.
Course Outline: Brief history and overview of the AR15/M16, types of rifles and their developmental predecessors, complete theory and functions of the AR15/M16 operating system, mechanics and function checks of the weapon system, build-out and custom work, proper tooling and maintenance, ballistics, clearing techniques, malfunctions, proper cleaning, and range practical.

This course will cover the proper fundamentals of long range game marksmanship. The blocks of instruction in this
course will include weapon selection, optic selection, gear selection, and Advanced hunting style marksmanship.
Training will be conducted through advanced field and classroom exercises. Each practical evolution is followed up
with a move advanced skill sets to help improve the long range shooters accuracy, target acquisition, ranging and
terrain features. Instructors will give the students a broad overview of open range engagements with carefully
outlined courses of fire. CRCE (Close Range Combat Engagement) allows the shooter to experience high intensity shooting at extreme close range and is done in conjunctionwith
