The NRA Reloading Class teaches beginning reloaders the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges. This course is four and half hours in length and is conducted in a classroom. Each student is taught reloading safety; centerfire cartridge components; using the reloading manual and reloading data; equipment; and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam, a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure.

Advanced Pistol III - Low Light Tactics

November 5-6, 2011

This course is designed to give the shooter a more advanced understanding of their weapons system in a tactical environment. The advanced pistol course gives the student an opportunity to experience high intensity shooting at extreme close range and will test the shooters reaction time, operational awareness, muscle memory and quick target acquisition shooting.  All students will be tested on the range following each evolution of this course to ensure standards and safety. Students will practice ballistics, reflective fire, quick sighting and target acquisition, close range engagements, close range weapons retention, shoot and move techniques, multiple target engagment, cover firing, collateral damage prevention, advanced firing positions and low light cover and engagements. Students must have attended Defensive Pistol I and II or equivalent (proof req'd) before attending this course.

The Advanced Pistol Handling course is designed to expand the circumstances and conditions under which a student can apply the skills developed in the Combat Focus® Shooting Course. This course will cover:

The APH Course is designed as a follow on for students who have completed fundamental defensive shooting training in the CFS Program and want to expand their skill sets and increase competency. At the end of the course, the student will have been exposed to (and practiced) shooting positions from all plausible angles while standing, seated, kneeling, prone or supine as well as properly shooting around cover in order to maximize its protective value. Students will also train one handed firearm handling, reloading and malfunction clearing. Unlike the CFS Program, in APH students will be forced to deal with a variety of malfunctions in a way that is congruent with the conditions of an dynamic critical incident.

The APH course is an intense physically and mentally challenging course that will take any students confidence and ability to defend themselves with a gun to a higher level.

Personal Protection Inside the Home
(Home Safety/Defense)

The Home Safety/Defense Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

The Home Safety/Defense Course participants must be law abiding, adults (at least 21 years old), and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, Defensive Pistol Course Certificate, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.

2 day combat carbine course designed to develop the fundamental skills needed to fight using an M4/M16 or other assault-type rifle. This course will build basic rifle fighting skills for beginners and refresh and challenge experienced warriors. Students will engage targets from 0 to 300m and beyond, works as a member of a team, use cover and perform under stress. Students will be required to think and concentrate while negotiating courses of fire making shots from positions and distances they may have never considered and will leave with the skills, confidence and mindset needed to prevail in a gunfight.

Defensive Carbine II

This course is a unique course of instruction that will provide the avid carbine shooter with a more in-depth knowledge base for the AR-15 style platform in reference to function, maintenance, history and operation. The Defensive Carbine II course consists of classroom instruction with informative blocks of instruction about the weapon system, accessories and kit/gear selection to properly operate a carbine on the range and for personal defense applications. This is accomplished by providing participants with a two day comprehensive course of instruction on field stripping and maintenance, advanced marksmanship, reloads, malfunctions and aiming techniques. Range time will be devoted to more advanced marksmanship.  Upon completion of this course, graduates will be asked to demonstrate proficiency in assembly, disassembly, inspection, testing, gauging, and repair of these weapon systems.

Course Outline:  Brief history and overview of the AR15/M16, types of rifles and their developmental predecessors, complete theory and functions of the AR15/M16 operating system, mechanics and function checks of the weapon system, build-out and custom work, proper tooling and maintenance, ballistics, clearing techniques, malfunctions, proper cleaning, and range practical.

Appleseed is a program that instructs Americans on the traditional rifle marksmanship skills that have been passed down from generation to generation, along with reconnecting today's Americans with the people and events of the Founding era. Participants are taught fundamental rifle marksmanship skills that are required to allow a Rifleman to be accurate out to 500 yards, with iron sights, standard rifle and surplus ammo. Defensive Shotgun - Home Defense

Instructors: Our instructors are the most experienced night vision instructors in the world. Our real world experience spans more than three decades, and includes recent operations using the latest and best equipment. We have trained literally thousands of federal, state, and local agents and officers on night vision/ night operations, with outstanding results.

Cost: $650 per student.

Prerequisites: Documented carbine and handgun training.

Equipment/ Ammunition Requirements: Students should bring: night vision goggles and everything needed for head or helmet mounting; duty/ tactical gear; PPE (eye and ear protection and hat or helmet; body armor is optional but recommended); a rifle/ carbine with optical sight, laser (if you have one), at least 3 magazines and 300 rounds of ammunition; and a handgun with a serviceable holster, 3 magazines, magazine pouches, and 250 rounds of ammunition. Tritium sights are required for handgun firing and qualification (but we do have a temporary work-around if necessary).

In accordance with International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) Regulations, only U.S. Citizens may participate in Telluric Group Night Vision courses.

Pathfinder Leadership Development Course

Our exclusive Pathfinder course is three days of time sensitive training with minimal time for individual thought and rest. Course is comprised of four challenging aspects of training to include; patrolling, operations planning, land navigation, and survival. Each is essential and will allow the student the opportunity to demonstrate each through practical challenges focused on, movement,  terrain, survival, and extractions.

Defensive Carbine II

This course is a unique course of instruction that will provide the avid carbine shooter with a more in-depth knowledge base for the M16-A4 platform. The carbine operator II course is designed to provide all aspects of maintenance, diagnosis, and repair as they relate to the M16, M4, A4 Carbine.  This is accomplished by providing participants with a two day comprehensive course of instruction.  Upon completion of this course, graduates will be asked to demonstrate proficiency in assembly, disassembly, inspection, testing, gauging, and repair of these weapon systems.

Course Outline:  Brief history and overview of the AR15/M16, types of rifles and their developmental predecessors, complete theory and functions of the AR/M16 operating system, mechanics and function checks of the weapon system, build-out and custom work, proper tooling and maintenance, ballistics, clearing techniques, malfunctions, proper cleaning, and range practical.

Combat Focus is an intuitive shooting program that is based on the study of empirical evidence from real violent encounters and builds on the body's natural reaction to an attack. At the ranges that gun fights typically occur, Combat Focus is the most effective way to engage your threat with a handgun. This two day course empowers students by encouraging them to embrace their bodies natural reaction to a lethal threat and work with it to neutralize that threat as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Combat Focus Technique is not hip-shooting, in fact, the only significant difference between using this technique and sighted fire is the focus of your attention at the moment the trigger breaks.

In addition to years of practical experience, the instructor has worked with some of the top trainer's in the industry to develop the Combat Focus Course.

This course is features a significant amount time discussing what happens during dynamic encounters and dissecting each shooters performance.

M&P Armorer's Course and

This course is designed to give the student a sound understanding of how the S&W M&P is built and how to improve upon its revolutionary design. Students will be introduced to the new Apex Forward Set Sear along with a host of other new innovative products. This course will cover in depth complete dissembly, inspection, cleaning, troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques utilizing various springs to achieve desired trigger pull, tips and tricks for ease of reaqssembly by professional gunsmiths. Practical fundamentals training will cover safety and muzzle awareness, stance, grip and trigger control, hitting the target on demand, holster draw and reloading techniques.

  • S&W M&P pistol
  • 2 Magazines
  • Holster
  • 1/8" Roll Pin Punch
  • 1/16" Pin Punch
  • Small jeweler/gunsmith hammer
  • Bench block with a hole.
